CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the third straight week, four members of the MIT women's swimming and diving team – ranked sixth in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association (CSAA) poll – were tabbed New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Relay of the Week. Senior Emmie Ryan (Avon, Ind.), juniors Veronika Jedryka (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and Lena Yang (East Stroudsburg, Pa.), and freshman Amanda Wu (Cedar Park, Texas) made up Tech's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay unit.
Ryan, Jedryka, Yang and Wu collaborated for a first place performance in their meet against Williams College on Friday, clocking a time of 1:35.59. Their time – an NCAA B cut – helped the Cardinal and Gray win the event by roughly one second. The time was also under last year's NCAA invited time, too.
MIT returns to the pool on Saturday, January 31 when they host Amherst College, which will feature two sessions at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
