CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Five members of the MIT women's swimming and diving team – ranked sixth in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll – received New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly honors. Senior Emmie Ryan (Avon, Ind.) earned her first-ever Co-Swimmer of the Week award, sharing the honor with Springfield College sophomore Callie Phillips (East Longmeadow, Mass.), while the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team – made up of senior Michelle Cunningham (Wayland, Mass.), juniors Margaret Guo (San Diego, Calif.) and Lena Yang (East Stroudsburg, Pa.), and freshman Amanda Wu (Cedar Park, Texas) – collected Relay of the Week.
In their final home dual meet of the season, Ryan captured the 1000 Yard Freestyle (10:45.31), placed second in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:11.39) and 100 Yard Freestyle (53.56), while assisting the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (3:35.53) and 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:56.66) to first place performances.
