Deborah Wen Wins 3-Meter Board for MIT at NCAA Diving Regionals

Middlebury, Vt. (March 2) - MIT women's swimming and diving freshman Deborah Wen (Honolulu, Hawaii) registered a score of 458.25 to win the 3-meter board on the first day of the NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regional held at Middlebury College.

Wen led MIT's efforts on the 3-meter board as she was joined by sophomore Blake Zhou (Palo Alto, Calif.) in fifth with 434.75 points, junior Morgan Matranga (Moraga, Calif.) in eighth with 417.25 points and junior Dolly Payne (Los Alamitos, Calif.) in 16th with 377.35 points.

The top-five finishers on the 3-meter board alongside Wen and Zhou were Lindsay Ruderman from Amherst College (457.50), Carmen White from NYU (452.45) and Maura Sticco-Ivins from Wellesley (448.00).

Tomorrow, the women's divers will compete on the 1-meter board at 12:00 p.m. at Middlebury College. Qualifiers for the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which will take place at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis from March 21-24, will be announced at the conclusion of the meet tomorrow night.
