Women’s Volleyball Collects League-High Nine NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Awards

Westwood, Mass. (November 6) – A league-high nine members of the MIT women's volleyball team were named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team as announced by the league on Wednesday. The list is comprised of 45 total student-athletes from the sport of women's volleyball.

Senior Madison Lee (Hillsborough, Calif.) received her third award while senior Shea Landeene (Phoenix, Ariz.) and junior Francesca Macchiavello (Lexington, Ky.) were repeat qualifiers. Juniors Emily Condon (Orange, Calif.) and Andie Maloney (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) along with sophomores Annie Bryan (Kirkwood, Mo.), Julia Caravias (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), Hannah Grupe (Oakwood, Ohio), and Maggie Wang (Rockville, Md.) rounded out the Engineers with their first selections to the Academic All-Conference Team.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or a 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2019 spring semester, must have achieved second year academic status at their institution and have been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
