CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After leading the No. 4 MIT women's cross country team to a fourth place finish this past weekend at the AAE Invitational, hosted by UW-Oshkosh, junior Sarah Quinn (Watchung, N.J.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Runner of the Week, as announced on Monday. This is the second time this season and third time in her career that Quinn received this honor.
Quinn finished first for the Cardinal and Gray for the second time this season, crossing the 6k finish line in 13th place out of 559 runners with a time of 21:36. She was the second Division III runner to finish the course behind Johns Hopkins University junior Sophia Meehan (Havertown, Pa.), who led the Blue Jays to a third place finish overall.
MIT returns to the trails on Saturday, November 1 when they compete in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship, hosted by Smith College.
